Leslie Rahl is appointed as Director of CIBC

    TORONTO, May 29 /CNW/ - William A. Etherington, Chairman of the Board,
CIBC, today announced that Leslie Rahl will be joining the CIBC Board of
Directors.
    Ms. Rahl, who has 35 years experience in the financial markets, is
President and Founder of Capital Market Risk Advisors (CMRA) of New York, a
consulting boutique that specializes in risk management, hedge funds and risk
governance. Since 1991, CMRA and its predecessor firm have played an integral
role in the evolution of derivatives, structured securities and risk
management.
    Ms. Rahl has been named among the Top 50 Women in Finance by Euromoney
and was profiled in both the 5th anniversary and 10th anniversary issues of
Risk Magazine. She has authored a book on hedge funds and a variety of
publications and articles that have appeared in journals ranging from
Directorship to Bank Accounting and Finance. Prior to founding CMRA, and its
predecessor firm, Ms. Rahl spent almost 20 years in increasingly senior
positions at Citibank N.A., culminating as Co-Head of Derivatives in North
America.
    She is also a member of the Board of Fannie Mae, which provides financial
products and services that make it possible for low-, moderate-, and middle-
income families to buy homes.
    Ms. Rahl received a Bachelor of Science degree at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology in 1971 and a Masters of Business Administration at
the Sloan School of Management in 1972.
