CIBC raises $500,000 to help create a future without breast cancer
Pink Ribbon products still available in CIBC branches in support of the
    Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday,
    October 5TORONTO, Sept. 16 /CNW/ - Thanks to an overwhelming response from clients
and employees at branches from coast-to-coast, CIBC is pleased to announce
that donations collected to date from Pink Ribbon products have surpassed
$500,000. These funds will be presented to the Canadian Breast Cancer
Foundation for breast cancer research, education and awareness. This year's
line of pink ribbon products, unveiled in mid-June, included:-   Necklaces
    -   Bank card protectors
    -   Dog leashes
    -   Car magnets
    -   Pink ribbon socks
    -   Playing cards
    -   Pink M&M's chocolate candies"We want to thank our clients and employees who have given generously in
support of this important cause. They share our passion for creating a future
without breast cancer," said Sonia Baxendale, Senior Executive Vice-President,
Retail Markets, CIBC. "The merchandise is still available in our branches
while quantities last. Every dollar of revenue generated from these products
helps to make a difference towards knowing how and why the disease develops
and spreads, how to treat it most effectively, and how to improve the quality
of life for survivors."

    The Run is the country's premier fundraising event dedicated to creating
a future without breast cancer. The 2008 Run on Sunday, October 5 will connect
170,000 Canadians in 55 communities all across the country. It is anticipated
that $27 million will be raised to fund innovative and relevant breast cancer
research, education, and awareness programs.
