CIBC announces 20 more branch locations to open or expand across Canada

From B.C. to Newfoundland & Labrador, new locations to offer clients greater access and choice

TORONTO, March 10 /CNW/ - Today CIBC announced the locations of 20 full-service banking centres it will open or expand in high growth Canadian communities to continue to enhance the banking experience for CIBC clients. Since the beginning of 2008, CIBC has built, relocated or expanded more than 50 branches across the country.

"We are opening new branches and expanding existing locations to offer our clients greater access to financial advice," said Christina Kramer, Executive Vice-President of Distribution Services for CIBC Retail Markets. "This is an investment in the long-term growth of Canadian communities and in enhancing the service we provide our clients to make banking as easy as possible for them."

Today's announcement includes the following locations that will open over the next 12 to 18 months:

British Columbia
    -   K.L.O. Road and Richter Street in Kelowna
    -   Columbia Street and Notre Dame Drive in Kamloops
    -   Scott Road and 73rd Avenue in Surrey

    Alberta
    -   Main Street in Airdrie
    -   Symons Valley Road and Symons Valley Parkway in Calgary
    -   199th Street and 62nd Avenue in Edmonton

    Saskatchewan
    -   Attridge Drive and Heal Avenue in Saskatoon

    Manitoba
    -   Kenaston Common in Winnipeg (Opens March 29, 2010)

    Ontario
    -   Hyde Park Road and Fanshawe Park Road in London
    -   McCowan Road and Bullock Drive in Markham
    -   Britannia Road and Latimer Drive in Mississauga
    -   Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga
    -   Dundas Street and Postmaster Drive in Oakville
    -   Trim Road and Innes Road in Orléans
    -   Queen Street and Woodbine Avenue in Toronto
    -   1500 Royal York Road in Toronto

CIBC's new branches feature extended hours and barrier-free banking facilities, including sit-down teller stations and fully-accessible Automated Banking Machines (ABMs). Many of these branches also offer service in multiple languages reflecting the diversity of the communities they serve.

With 1073 branches, CIBC clients have access to one of the largest branch networks in Canada. In addition to convenient branch hours, including evening, Saturday and Sunday hours at select locations, CIBC offers clients among the most extensive banking choices in the country with more than 3,800 ABMs and 24-hour access by phone, online and through mobile banking. In February, CIBC became the first Canadian bank to offer a Mobile Banking app for iPhone.
