Curtis Joseph to help CIBC celebrate the grand opening of new Bradford branch

Guests can enter to win a Blue Ember BBQ or $1,000 GIC; $5,000 donation to Bradford Progress Child Care Centre to mark the occasion

BRADFORD, ON, June 4 /CNW/ - This Saturday, June 5, legendary goalie Curtis "CUJO" Joseph will help CIBC celebrate the grand opening of its new six-day, 7,650 square-foot CIBC Hwy 88 & 10th Side Road Banking Centre. The larger, state-of-the-art branch replaces CIBC's previous Holland Street location, offering clients service in English, French, Spanish, Polish and Turkish. To mark the occasion, a $5,000 donation will be made to the Bradford Progress Child Care Centre.

Curtis Joseph will be on-site Saturday to meet fans from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and kids 12 and under can try to score on Curtis from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Guests can enter to win great prizes like a Blue Ember BBQ or a $1,000 GIC and families can enjoy fun activities including a caricaturist, magician, face painter and bouncy castle. A barbecue, popcorn, cotton candy and snow-cones will also be served.

"Our new, fully accessible Bradford branch will help provide our busy clients with more access and choice, making banking with us even more convenient," said Sylvain Vinet, CIBC's Senior Vice-President of Retail Markets for Eastern Canada. "We're happy to celebrate our grand opening with the community and one of Canada's greatest goalies."

Hours of operation are:

Monday - Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
    Thursday - Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
    Saturday: 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The new branch is barrier free with accessibility features such as a sit down teller station and three Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) installed at wheelchair accessible height with headphone jacks for audio access and grab bars for mobility assistance. The branch also features a drive-thru ABM for added convenience.

In honour of the grand opening, a donation of $5,000 will be made to the Bradford Progress Childcare Centre, a not for profit agency that provides childcare at five locations in the Bradford community to children from infancy to age 12. The centre serves over 200 families in Bradford and the surrounding community and will celebrate it's 20th anniversary this month. The donation will go towards new outdoor playground equipment and various activities and day trips in the summer to promote healthy physical activity in young children.

"As Bradford and West Gwillimbury are growing fast, we are seeing an increase in demand for quality childcare as young families continue to make Bradford their home. Bradford Progress Childcare Centre provides quality childcare that focuses on healthy growth and development," said Jessica Vaneck, Past Chair, Bradford Progress Child Care Centre Inc. "This generous donation made by CIBC will positively and directly impact hundreds of children. We are excited to forge a partnership with CIBC as we continue to bring fun and exciting programming to the Bradford community."
