CIBC named Canada's Best Consumer Internet Bank for the third consecutive year

TORONTO, Aug. 19 /CNW/ - CIBC has been named the Best Consumer Internet Bank in Canada for the third year in a row by Global Finance magazine in its 11th annual "World's Best Internet Banks" competition.

CIBC was chosen based on the overall strength of its online banking offerings including factors such as site design, functionality, and success at attracting and serving clients online.

"Millions of CIBC clients enjoy the convenience and security of doing their everyday banking online with CIBC," says Christina Kramer, Executive Vice President, CIBC Retail Markets. "This award reflects the value our clients place in doing their banking online and our commitment to ensuring that our clients have a superior online experience."

Each week, CIBC clients conduct millions of transactions online, proving that online banking has now become an integral part of their overall banking experience.

In addition to an award-winning online banking experience, CIBC continues to invest in greater access and choice for clients in how they do their everyday banking. Earlier this year, CIBC was the first major Canadian bank to launch a Mobile Banking App for iPhone, and then enhanced the mobile banking experience for clients using a BlackBerry or other Smartphones.

CIBC has also made significant investments in its branch network over the past several years, including opening, expanding or relocating over 70 new branches, extending hours, and introducing Sunday banking hours at 47 locations across Canada.

"We believe that access and choice is critical to the overall client experience so whether our clients want to bank by mobile, online, telephone, ABM, or in branch, we have the channel that's right for them," added Kramer.

CIBC is a leading North American financial institution with nearly 11 million personal banking and business clients. CIBC offers a full range of products and services through its comprehensive electronic banking network, branches and offices across Canada, in the United States and around the world.
