CIBC celebrates the grand opening of new Kelowna branch with live music, food and fun

Family entertainment this evening and Saturday; guests can enter to win an Apple MacBook Pro or a $1,000 GIC

KELOWNA, BC, Oct. 29 /CNW/ - Today from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and tomorrow, Saturday, October 30th, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., CIBC will celebrate the grand opening of its new 6,400 square-foot CIBC Mission Park Banking Centre in Kelowna. The larger, state-of-the-art branch replaces CIBC's existing location in the area to better serve the growing community around the Mission Park Shopping Centre. To mark the occasion today, CIBC will present a $5,000 donation to Building Healthy Families.

Visitors to the branch this evening can enjoy live entertainment from the Kelowna Senior Secondary Jazz Ensemble followed by local jazz and blues performer Ellen Churchill. Appetizers and refreshments will be provided by the Okanagan Culinary Arts Program and guests can enter to win great prizes like an Apple MacBook Pro or a $1,000 GIC. And the fun continues tomorrow with family activities including face painting and a magic show by Ali K. Zam.

"We're proud to celebrate our long term commitment to Kelowna and to provide our clients in the Okanagan with increased access and choice in their banking in this spacious new facility," said Mike Stevenson, CIBC's Senior Vice-President of Retail Markets for Western Canada. "We're also very pleased to present a donation to Building Healthy Families, an organization that provides vital parenting training and support to so many local families."

The branch hours of operation are:

Monday - Wednesday:    9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Thursday - Friday:        9:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday:            9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

CIBC's donation to Building Healthy Families will help the organization continue with its mission to preserve, stabilize, and strengthen families in the community through education, training and support and six special programs.

"With CIBC's generous donation we will be able to offer critical support and skills to the families of The Zone program," said David Werry, Executive Director and Board Chairman, Building Healthy Families. "This unique program is designed for parents along with their children and youth ages 10 to 16 to come together and learn how to reduce anger and conflict and begin to build healthy relationships."

The new branch is barrier free with accessibility features such as a sit down teller station and three Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) installed at wheelchair accessible height with headphone jacks for audio access and grab bars for mobility assistance.

CIBC has one of the largest branch networks in Canada and clients also benefit from access to more than 3,800 automated bank machines, and 24/7 service by phone, online and through mobile banking.
