Media Advisory - From Sochi 2014 with love: CIBC celebrates hometown heroes, Canadian Paralympians at the CIBC Bow Tower in Calgary

CALGARY, March 28, 2014 /CNW/ - CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) is proud to welcome home first-time Paralympians Kurt Oatway, Alana Ramsay, Michelle Salt, and Alexandra Starker to a community celebration on March 31 following their impressive performances at the recent Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

Please join us at the CIBC Bow Tower on 500 Centre Street in Calgary to celebrate their return.

Mr. Oatway placed fifth in Para-Alpine Skiing Downhill - Sitting and ninth in Super G - Sitting, while Ms. Ramsay placed ninth in Para-Alpine Skiing Slalom - Standing and 10th in Super G - Standing. Ms. Salt, who joined the para-snowboard national team only last year, placed ninth in Snowboard Cross. Ms. Starker, Canada's slalom champion and another recent addition to the Para-Alpine Ski Team, finished sixth in Slalom - Standing, seventh in Super G - Standing and 10th in Para-Alpine Skiing.

To mark their achievements in Sochi, CIBC will present the athletes with gold-plated coins and personalized sports pennants commemorating their participation at the Sochi Games.

The athletes will be available to speak about their experience at Sochi, their involvement with parasport and next steps in their athletic careers.
