TORONTO, April 27, 2015 /CNW/ - CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) announced today it is donating $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with relief efforts in Nepal, following the devastation caused by the recent earthquake.

"The earthquake in Nepal has created an urgent need for aid and support across the region," said Sharon Mathers, Senior Vice-President, CIBC. "In the wake of this disaster, we are joining our clients and employees in supporting relief efforts through the Canadian Red Cross."

This week, CIBC branches across the country will also be joining the relief effort by accepting donations from clients on behalf of the Canadian Red Cross.
