CIBC Ranks as Top Canadian Bank in Mobile Banking Benchmark

According to independent research firm, CIBC supports the widest range of mobile touchpoints

TORONTO, June 9, 2017 /CNW/ - CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) CIBC has earned the highest score for mobile banking functionality in Canada among the big 5 banks reviewed in Forrester Research Inc.'s 2017 Canadian Mobile Banking Benchmark report.

In this year's report, Forrester evaluated the mobile banking functionality and usability of the five largest retail banks in Canada across 54 criteria and CIBC received the top combined score for both, while also earning best usability score worldwide in the global benchmark.

According to Forrester CIBC offers best-in-Canada cross-channel guidance and navigation within its mobile app. Examples of this include the recently launched in-app voice commands that allow clients to quickly access a variety of banking tasks and explore products or services with a simple voice prompt.

Other key areas of strength for CIBC in mobile banking include:

  • Offering clients services that go beyond routine banking transactions like ordering foreign cash, buying precious metals, booking in-branch appointments, offering prepaid cards, and more
  • Supporting the widest range of mobile touchpoints, from downloadable smartphone and tablet apps to wearables

"We believe Forrester's recognition speaks directly to how CIBC continues to build a complete end-to-end personalized mobile banking experience that puts the client first," says Aayaz Pira, Senior Vice President, CIBC Digital Retail & Business Banking. "We are continually working to innovate for our clients including enhancing and building new mobile-driven solutions so they can access modern convenient banking, how and when they want."

The announcement follows CIBC's top overall ranking in the 2016 Canadian Online Banking Functionality Benchmark from Forrester, released in January 2017.
