CIBC Announces Sunday Banking Hours in Select Vancouver Lower Mainland Branches

CIBC addresses the changing needs of Canadians by providing its clients
with more banking flexibility, access and choice

VANCOUVER, Sept. 17 /CNW/ - CIBC (CM: TSX;NYSE) - To provide its clients
with greater flexibility, access and choice, CIBC today announced that it will
open select branches on Sundays in the Vancouver Lower Mainland, beginning
later this year.
"By providing our clients with 7-day service at select branches, CIBC is
providing greater access to our clients to help them balance their busy
lifestyles," said Wendy Slavin, CIBC's Senior Vice President of Retail Markets
for Western Canada. "With the introduction of Sunday branch banking in these
high traffic commercial areas, our clients now have the choice to do their
branch banking any day of the week and on their own terms."
Commencing later this fall, and to coincide with the busiest shopping
season of the year, a select number of CIBC branches in the Vancouver Lower
Mainland will open on Sundays. These full service branches will offer clients
access to a full range of transactional services, sales and advice. The first
CIBC branches to offer Sunday hours in the Vancouver Lower Mainland area will
be located in high traffic, busy areas at Kingsway & McKercher, Brentwood
Mall, and Yaletown (opening in January 2008).
Opening select urban branches on Sundays is one more way that CIBC is
providing its clients with greater options, access and flexibility. CIBC will
also continue to offer its clients evening and Saturday banking hours in many
of its 1,048 branches, as well access to its more than 3,800 automated bank
machines. Additionally, CIBC clients benefit from 24/7 service over the phone
and on Canada's leading online banking site, cibc.com.

CIBC is a leading North American financial institution with more than
11 million personal banking and business customers. CIBC offers a full range
of products and services through its comprehensive electronic banking network,
branches and offices across Canada, in the United States and around the world.
