Media Advisory - Leading industrial firms will speak at CIBC World Markets conference - to address growth prospects amid mixed economic conditions

    NEW YORK, Sept. 18 /CNW/ - CIBC (CM: TSX; NYSE) - Despite difficult
market conditions, solid business fundamentals continue to position many
industrial stocks for stability and growth in the near term.
    At the CIBC World Markets Industrial Conference Oct. 2-3 in New York
City, investors will assess which firms and sectors are poised for success,
and what the mixed economic signals and market turbulence could mean for
others.
    An impressive gathering of leaders from more than 50 public and private
companies are scheduled speak at the conference. Attending firms span a range
of industrial sectors, namely: aerospace, defense, industrial services,

    The conference also features a keynote address by Jeff Rubin, Chief
Economist and Chief Strategist at CIBC World Markets. Mr. Rubin's calls on oil
prices, housing market crashes and currency valuations have garnered respect
and headlines, and have been instrumental in bringing key economic issues to
the spotlight. He will speak on the implications of looming increases in the
price of oil as OPEC and other key producers cut exports to meet soaring
demand at home. Mr. Rubin is predicting that oil prices will reach US$100 a
