Renaissance Investments Wins Two Awards at 2007 Canadian Investment Awards

Renaissance Global Health Care Fund wins asset class for fifth year in a
    row

TORONTO, Dec. 3 /CNW/ - Renaissance Investments took home two top honours
at the 13th Annual Canadian Investment Awards, which took place Thursday night
in Toronto.
"We are delighted by this recognition from Canada's top mutual fund
industry analysts," said Steve Geist, President of CIBC Asset Management. "But
most importantly, the awards confirm that investors in these funds, and the
thousands of advisors that have supported them, have been well served by these
investments."
For the fifth consecutive year, the Renaissance Global Health Care Fund
won in the category of Healthcare Equity Fund. The fund, which has dominated
this award since the category was introduced in 2003, celebrated its 11th
anniversary this year and is managed by Wellington Management Company, LLP of
Boston.
In the category of Canadian Income Trust Fund, the Renaissance Canadian
Monthly Income Fund took top honours. Managed by CIBC Global Asset
Management's Gaelen Morphet and the Canadian Equity Value and Income Trust
Team, the fund uses a conservative, value approach to income generation to
meet investors' needs.
In addition, the Renaissance Canadian High Yield Bond Fund was a finalist
in the High Yield Fixed Income Fund category. CIBC Global Asset Management's
Mark Kanar and the High Yield Bond Team manage the fund using a value approach
to offer a well-diversified portfolio of high-yielding securities that
delivers a high level of income with the potential for capital appreciation.
