Doubling access to Sunday banking this summer in the GTA and Vancouver

    TORONTO, April 9 /CNW/ - This summer, CIBC (CM: TSX;NYSE) will double the
number of locations in the Greater Toronto Area and Vancouver Lower Mainland
that offer Sunday banking from six branches to 12.
    "Our clients have told us that Sunday Hours are a great advantage and
provides them with the opportunity to do their banking when it suits their
schedule. By offering more Sunday banking hours, we are providing our clients
with the increased flexibility, access and choice that they are looking for,"
said Sonia Baxendale, CIBC Senior Executive Vice President, Retail Markets.
    Beginning this summer, the following CIBC full-service branches will open
their doors on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.:-  Guildford Town Centre in Surrey, B.C.;
      -  Lougheed Mall in Burnaby, B.C.;
      -  Park Royal Shopping Centre in West Vancouver, B.C.;
      -  Gerrard Square in Toronto, ON;
      -  Markville Shopping Centre in Markham, ON; and
      -  Thompson and Steeles in Milton, ON (opening this summer).Offering Sunday hours is one more way CIBC is investing in its clients.
In the past six months, CIBC has also announced 29 new branches, part of a
strategic plan to build, relocate and expand over 70 new branches in the
country by 2011.
    CIBC clients will continue to benefit from evening and Saturday banking
hours in many of its 1,049 branches, as well access to its more than 3,700
automated bank machines. Additionally, CIBC clients can choose 24/7 service
over the phone and on Canada's leading online banking site, cibc.com.
