Multi-year initiative to offer CIBC clients state-of-the-art ABMs TORONTO, Nov. 12 /CNW/ - Today CIBC announced plans to upgrade and replace its network of more than 3700 Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) as part of a multi-year initiative to provide CIBC clients with access to enhanced ABM technology. "We continue to invest in our ABM network to offer CIBC clients a consistent and secure automated banking experience," said Christina Kramer, Executive Vice-President, Distribution Services for CIBC Retail Markets. "These new ABMs will be easier to use and will provide even greater functionality for our clients. Enabled with the latest technology and accessibility features, they are also more energy-efficient." "With hundreds of thousands of transactions being conducted on CIBC's ABM network every day, we know that clients enjoy this convenient banking option," added Kramer. CIBC has already begun to replace the first 600 ABMs at more than 300 sites across Canada. The new ABMs, provided by global technology company NCR Corporation, will feature:- The most advanced privacy and security measures - Fully accessible banking, including audio and wheelchair height access - Faster, high performance technology that enables CIBC to continue adding new transaction features as clients' needs evolve"NCR has been providing CIBC with nationwide ABM solutions for more than 20 years. NCR's understanding of CIBC's commitment to providing its clients with self-service banking that is convenient, easy to use, safe and secure -- every time, all the time -- has been integral to this relationship," said Ranji Persad, President of NCR Canada. "As CIBC clients turn to the self-service banking channel to complete more sophisticated transactions, NCR SelfServ™ ABM technology will allow for the introduction of additional services at more locations. Equally important, the improved self-service platform will enable CIBC to quickly respond to changing consumer needs." In 2007, CIBC completed a multi-year ABM upgrade that included enhanced accessibility and transaction features. With this new phase of upgrades, CIBC will continue to build upon last year's investment in its ABM network as part of an ongoing strategic focus on providing greater flexibility, access and choice in meeting the financial needs of CIBC clients.
