Trevor Linden and CIBC to celebrate the grand opening of new Panorama Village branch in Surrey
Guests can enter to win a $1,000 GIC or one of two Linden jerseys; $5,000 donation to Tong Louie Family YMCA to mark occasionSURREY, BC, Sept. 11 /CNW/ - Tomorrow, Canadian hockey hero Trevor Linden will help celebrate the grand opening of CIBC's new six-day banking centre in Surrey. The 6,500 square-foot, full-service branch located at the Panorama Village Shopping Centre at Highway 10 and 152nd Avenue offers clients extended evening hours as well as service in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Hindi and Portuguese. Linden will be on-site to sign autographs and meet fans who can take home a CIBC hockey puck and enter to win one of two signed Linden jerseys. Guests at the event can also enter to win a $1,000 GIC and families can enjoy a variety of fun activities including a bouncy castle, caricaturist, magician, mini-golf and a barbecue. "We're thrilled to be expanding our presence in Surrey to accommodate more of our clients and their busy schedules with this new, six-day branch," said Wendy Slavin, Senior Vice-President, CIBC Retail Markets, Western Canada. "This is a thriving, diverse community and our team here is excited to provide clients with our full range of products and services in a variety of languages."The hours of operation are: Monday - Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Thursday - Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday: 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.To further mark the occasion CIBC will make a $5,000 donation to the Tong Louie Family YMCA, a community health and fitness centre with over 12,000 members, mostly families. Funds will go towards the centre's Families in our Community initiative that provides families with a variety of YMCA programs such as swimming lessons and preschool programs. "The YMCA of Greater Vancouver is grateful for CIBC's gift to the 2009 Annual Campaign. People living on a low income face barriers to health and well-being, but the obstacles can be surmounted if they have access to the programs and services they need," said Brenda Adams, General Manager of the Tong Louie Family YMCA. "Together, with help from generous donors like CIBC, we can ensure that everyone - no matter their circumstances - can benefit from a YMCA opportunity." The new branch is fully accessible, including two Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) installed at wheelchair accessible height with headphone jacks for audio access; grab bars for mobility assistance; and brighter lighting, plus a 24-hour drive-thru ABM for added convenience. Earlier this year CIBC opened a new seven-day branch in South Surrey's Grandview Corners shopping district. A third new CIBC location will open later this year at Scott Road and 88th Avenue, replacing CIBC's current location directly across the street.
