Wendel Clark and CIBC to celebrate the grand opening of Barrie's first seven-day banking centre
Guests can enter to win a $1,000 GIC or a Samsung LCD TV; $5,000 donation to Season's Centre for Grieving Children to mark occasionBARRIE, ON, Sept. 11 /CNW/ - Tomorrow, hockey legend Wendel Clark will help CIBC celebrate the grand opening of its new full-service banking centre at Yonge Street and Big Bay Point Road. The 6,130 square-foot branch will offer clients the convenience of in-branch banking seven days a week - a first for Barrie. To commemorate the occasion CIBC will make a $5,000 donation to the Season's Centre for Grieving Children. Clark will be on-site to sign autographs and meet fans who can enter to win great prizes like a $1,000 GIC or a 37" Samsung LCD TV. Guests at the event can also enjoy a barbecue and fun activities for families, including a bouncy castle, face painter and more. "This new state-of-the-art banking centre will give our Barrie clients the flexibility to bank and get professional financial advice any day of the week," said Sylvain Vinet, CIBC's Senior Vice-President of Retail Markets for Eastern Canada. "We're pleased to be expanding in such a vibrant community and to be the first bank in Barrie to introduce Sunday hours."The hours of operation are: Monday - Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Thursday - Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday: 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday: noon - 4 p.m.To mark the occasion, CIBC will present a $5,000 donation to the Season's Centre for Grieving Children of Barrie, an organization that provides compassionate support to children coping with the death of a loved one. Founded on the belief that every child deserves an opportunity to grieve in a supportive and understanding environment, the centre helps children to adjust emotionally as they regenerate a sense of self and begin to reconstruct their lives. "Seasons Centre for Grieving Children wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to CIBC for its generous gift. This kind donation will allow us to continue to offer our grief support programs at our children's grief support centre in Barrie, Ontario," said Patricia Copeland, Executive Director, Season's Centre for Grieving Children. "Our centre has seen a 60% increase in the number of children, teens and youth needing grief support from our centre since January 2009 and this wonderful gesture of hope will go towards helping grieving children just be kids again." The branch is fully accessible, including three Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) installed at wheelchair accessible height with headphone jacks for audio access; grab bars for mobility assistance; and brighter lighting, plus a drive-thru ABM for added convenience.
