VICTORIA, Sept. 18 /CNW/ - This Sunday, September 20th, Canadian hockey hero Trevor Linden will help CIBC celebrate the grand opening of their new seven-day banking centre in Langford. Located at the intersection of Jacklin Road and Kelly Road in the Westshore Town Centre, this 6,130 square-foot full-service branch is CIBC's second location in the Victoria area to offer Sunday banking hours along with CIBC's Mayfair Shopping Centre location.
Linden will be on-site to sign autographs and greet fans who can enter to win great prizes like a 40" Sony Bravia LCD TV or a $1,000 GIC. Guests can also enjoy a barbecue and refreshments and a variety of fun activities for families including a bouncy castle, face painter, caricaturist, magician and more.
"Our clients really appreciate the convenience of being able to bank any day of the week so we're thrilled to bring Victoria residents even more seven-day banking convenience," said Wendy Slavin, CIBC's Senior Vice-President of Retail Markets for Western Canada. "Our new Westshore banking centre will offer CIBC's full range of products and advisory solutions in a large, modern facility."
The hours of operation are:
Monday - Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Thursday - Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturday: 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sunday: noon - 4 p.m.
To commemorate the occasion, CIBC will make a $5,000 donation to the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children which supports the physical, mental and social wellbeing of children, youth and families, primarily on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands in BC.
"We are truly grateful to CIBC for its continued community engagement," said Joy Spencer-Barry, President & CEO of the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children. "Through their spirit of giving our nine child and youth partner agencies, who support over 8,000 families a year at our West Shore Child, Youth and Family Centre, are being helped. The CIBC donation will assist in supporting many of the 'comforts' that so often are hard to come by: new toys, clothing, and meal and transportation vouchers for the children and families served."
The branch is fully accessible, including three Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) installed at wheelchair accessible height with headphone jacks for audio access; grab bars for mobility assistance; and brighter lighting, plus a 24-hour drive-thru ABM for added convenience.
With 1,063 branches, CIBC has one of the largest branch networks in Canada. This new branch, CIBC's 8th location in the Victoria area, is part of a five-year strategic plan to build, relocate and expand over 70 new branches across Canada to offer greater flexibility, access and choice to clients.
