MONTREAL, June 1 /CNW Telbec/ - Mr. Pierre Bruneau, the spokesman for the Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau, is proud to invite media representatives to the launch of the 15th Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau. This four-day, 600-kilometre bicycle trek is meant to reflect the commitment made by each and every participant to continue the fight against pediatric cancer in Quebec. Honourary guests will have the pleasure of introducing the cyclists and public personalities taking part in the 15th CIBC Charles-Bruneau Tour, under the theme "This summer, it's my turn to take the Tour." The Tour itinerary will also be announced, together with the financial objective of this year's event.
THE LAUNCH TAKES PLACE ON: THURSDAY, JUNE 3, 2010, AT 9:55 a.m. 1 Place Ville-Marie, ground floor, in the food court behind the Subway outlet
The event will be attended by:
- Mr. Pierre Bruneau, spokesman for the Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau; - Mr. Sylvain Vinet, senior vice-president, Retail, Distribution, Eastern Canada, CIBC; - Eight year-old Annie Cardinal-Houde, spokesperson for the event, cured following a bout with myelocytic leukemia.
For the third consecutive year, the press briefing will be followed by the Midi du Tour virtual bicycle races. This year, the friendly competition will see Bruno Heppell (former Montreal Alouettes football player) and Marc Santerre (head coach of the Carabins de Montréal) join the likes of Karine Champagne (TV host), Sébastien Delorme (actor), Michel Jean (TV host), Josée Lavigueur (professional trainer) and Ève-Marie Lortie (TV host).
Some 16 teams of two cyclists will take part, with all of the proceeds going to the Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau.
