CIBC , Dora™ and Diego™* to celebrate grand opening of new Guelph branch

Guests can enter to win a $1,000 GIC or an Apple iPad™ prize pack; $10,000 donation to Wyndham House to mark the occasion

GUELPH, ON, Sept. 10 /CNW/ - CIBC invites Guelph residents to help celebrate the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art branch on Clair Road East at Gordon Street this Saturday, September 11th in the city's south end. Open six days a week, the 6,100 square foot CIBC Clair & Gordon Banking Centre offers extended hours, as well as service in English, Tamil, Sinhalese, Hindi, Greek, Portuguese and Dari. To mark the occasion CIBC will present a $10,000 donation to Wyndham house.

Kids at the event can meet Dora™ and Diego™* from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and have their photo taken in a frame they can decorate. Families can enjoy fun activities, including a clown, a magician, a pet caricaturist, an ice cream truck and a barbecue. Guests at the event can enter to win great prizes like a $1,000 GIC or an Apple iPad™ prize pack that includes a docking station, wireless keyboard, carrying case and more.

The new branch is barrier free with accessibility features such as a sit down teller station and two Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) installed at wheelchair accessible height with headphone jacks for audio access and grab bars for mobility assistance. The branch also offers a drive-thru ABM for added convenience.

CIBC's $10,000 donation to Wyndham House, an agency that provides unique housing and outreach programs that offer solutions to youth homelessness in the community, will go towards their After Care Program. This gift is in addition to $10,000 CIBC donated to Wyndham house to mark the grand opening of its CIBC Woodlawn & Woolwich Banking Centre in March 2010.

This vital initiative provides outreach support and services to help youth maintain their new housing, breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty," said Debbie Bentley-Lauzon, Executive Director, Wyndham House. "This is the second time that CIBC has chosen to support this program and we sincerely thank them for the commitment to ensuring that at risk youth in our community continue to have options and opportunities for a brighter future."
