CIBC grows with three new locations announced for Lower Mainland

Continued investment in branch network to better serve clients

VANCOUVER, Oct 4 /CNW/ - Today, CIBC announced it will open three new state-of-the-art, full-service banking centres in Surrey, Langley and New Westminster by early 2012. CIBC has opened or expanded nine branches in the Vancouver and Lower Mainland area in recent years to strengthen its presence in some of the area's fastest growing communities.

"CIBC is committed to providing clients with an excellent banking experience and this strategic long-term investment in our communities will make banking even more convenient for our clients," said Mike Stevenson, CIBC's Senior Vice-President of Retail Markets for Western Canada. "Adding these new, state-of-the-art locations in some of the busiest and most diverse communities in the Lower Mainland area will give our clients more opportunities to meet face-to-face with an advisor and get the financial solutions and advice they need to help them achieve their financial goals."

Today's announcement includes the following new CIBC locations:

  • 202nd Street and 88th Avenue in Walnut Grove (Langley) in summer 2011
  • New Westminster Station in New Westminster in fall 2011
  • Highway 10 and Highway 15 in Cloverdale (Surrey) in early 2012

"As we invest in our branch network, we are looking for exceptional people in these communities who enjoy helping people achieve their goals, including candidates who may speak the preferred languages of our diverse clients," added Stevenson.

CIBC's new barrier-free branch design includes teller stations that allow clients to sit while speaking to a teller for greater comfort as well as Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) installed at wheelchair accessible height with headphone jacks for audio access and grab bars for mobility assistance.

CIBC clients have access to one of the largest branch networks in the country, with more than 1070 branches to choose from across Canada, including 65 in Vancouver and Lower Mainland.  Clients also enjoy convenient banking at more than 3800 automated bank machines, and 24/7 service over the phone, through CIBC mobile banking and on Canada's leading online banking site, www.cibc.com.
