CIBC named one of Canada's Best Employers for New Canadians for fourth consecutive year

Recognized for leading outreach and recruitment programs

TORONTO, March 29 /CNW/ - CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) - For the fourth consecutive year, CIBC has been recognized as one of the best places in the country for new Canadians to work by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. The award recognizes employers that offer innovative programs for new Canadians as well as an inclusive workplace where individual identity, diverse ideas and perspectives are considered and respected.

CIBC was selected for the award by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers based on a number of factors including:

  • Leading outreach programs. CIBC actively supports programs such as Career Bridge, which allow skilled newcomers to Canada to gain valuable work experience leading to employment; and ACCES Employment, which helps newcomers start or resume their careers in Canada by providing them with advice on resumes, communication and interview techniques.
  • Online recruitment website. CIBC now includes a dedicated section on its recruitment website where applicants who are new to Canada can find resources and information, such as foreign credentials assessment, language training and mentoring.
  • Removing employment barriers. CIBC partners with World Education Services (WES), a not-for-profit credential evaluation service to bring down barriers to employment for newcomers to Canada. WES works to integrate internationally trained professionals by determining the Canadian equivalency of their credentials.

Earlier this year, CIBC was also recognized for its exceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programs by being named one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers.
