A NIGHT OUT WITH "THE GIRLS" SPREADS AWARENESS ABOUT BREAST RESTORATION OPTIONS IN CANADA

Fundraising event to support the UHN Breast Restoration Program

TORONTO, April 6 /CNW/ - The Committee for Breast Restoration Awareness announced today their annual 'BRA' Event to take place on Wednesday, May 4th, 2011 in support of the UHN Breast Restoration Program.  The goal of this year's event is to raise funds to support the hiring of a Clinical Nurse Specialist who will help guide mastectomy patients through their reconstruction journey.

"Mastectomy scars serve as an everyday reminder to patients of their surgery and vulnerability," said Naneve Hawke, Chair, UHN Breast Restoration Awareness Event and Breast Cancer Survivor. "Our goal is to give women every resource possible to make an informed decision about reconstruction and take steps towards feeling whole again. This year's objective of hiring a Clinical Nurse Specialist is crucial to this process."
