CIBC, Darryl Sittler mark grand opening of second Kitchener branch with $10,000 donation to Family & Children's Services of the Waterloo Region

KITCHENER, ON, June 17, 2011 /CNW/ - CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) Tomorrow, on Saturday, June 18th, CIBC and hockey legend Darryl Sittler will celebrate the grand opening of the new 6,100 square foot CIBC Ira Needles & University Banking Centre, the second new CIBC branch to open in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Open six days a week, the new branch at 120 The Boardwalk offers Kitchener-Waterloo residents extended hours as well as service in English and Arabic. To mark the opening, CIBC will present a $10,000 donation to Family & Children's Services of the Waterloo Region.

"This spacious, modern branch will provide clients with access to our full range of financial solutions and professional advice to help them achieve what matters."

The branch hours of operation are:

Monday - Wednesday:  9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
        Thursday - Friday:   9:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
        Saturday:            9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

CIBC's $10,000 donation to Family & Children's Services of the Waterloo Region will go towards a new Family Centre, a unique community hub where Family and Children's Services and other community organizations will work together to provide community programming, counseling services, social and recreational activities that help children and families in our community. As one of 54 Children's Aid Societies in Ontario, Family & Children's Services of the Waterloo Region protects children in the community by supporting and strengthening families so that children can grow up safely at home.

Darryl Sittler will be on-site to meet and greet fans from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Guests at the grand opening can enter to win a Weber Prize Pack worth nearly $1,000 including a Weber Genesis EP-310 BBQ, a Weber Genesis grill cover and a Weber Style 3 piece stainless steel BBQ tool set or a $1,000 GIC. There will also be a face painter, caricaturist and interactive outdoor hockey games.

The new full-service branch is barrier free with features such as a sit down teller station and two Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) installed at wheelchair accessible height, with headphone jacks for audio access and grab bars for mobility assistance. The branch also offers a drive-thru ABM for added convenience.

CIBC clients already enjoy access to one of the largest branch networks in Canada in addition to convenient branch hours, including evenings, Saturday and Sunday hours at select locations.
