SLAVE LAKE, AB, June 24, 2011 /CNW/ - CIBC employees across the province have been raising funds to help the victims of the fires in Slave Lake with $14,000 collected to date. In recognition of their efforts, CIBC today announced it is donating $15,000 to the Canadian Red Cross.
The Canadian Red Cross report they have helped more than 300 households, visited nine communities that housed evacuation centres and their client service centre continues to be in operation for residents in need of assistance.
"CIBC and its employees are donating these funds to provide additional aid and recovery to the people most affected by this disaster," said Mike Stevenson, Senior Vice President, Western Canada, CIBC.
