TORONTO, Aug. 23, 2011 /CNW/ - CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) announced today that revised Q2 2011 Supplementary Financial Information, which reflects the previously-announced realignment of CIBC business segments, is now available on its website.
On March 28, 2011, CIBC announced the creation of two new segments: Retail and Business Banking and Wealth Management, which previously reported under CIBC Retail Markets. The historical comparative segment financial information has been revised to reflect this realignment. CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank, which previously reported under CIBC Retail Markets, is now reported within International Banking, under Corporate and Other. CIBC also realigned certain items from Other to Capital Markets and to Corporate and Investment Banking within Wholesale Banking to better reflect the nature and management of the activities.
CIBC now consists of three business segments: Retail and Business Banking, Wealth Management and Wholesale Banking.
The revised historical segment financial information for Retail and Business Banking, Wealth Management, Wholesale Banking, and Corporate and Other does not impact the previously reported consolidated financial information of CIBC.
