Hon. Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Chris Alexander to attend
TORONTO, June 25, 2014 /CNW/ - CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) and Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) are co-hosting a special ceremony for 50 soon-to-be new Canadians who will be taking the Oath of Citizenship during the CIBC Taste of Asia Festival in Markham, Ontario. Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Chris Alexander will participate in the ceremony on June 28th as part of upcoming Canada Day celebrations across the country.
The jointly organized public ceremony will be attended by hundreds of visitors to the CIBC Taste of Asia Festival, who will help welcome these new Canadians into the community.
CIBC is proud to partner with CIC to support these celebratory events, which aim to increase awareness among new and established Canadians of the roles, responsibilities, and privileges of being a Canadian citizen. Media are invited to attend and speak to participants after the ceremony.
