CIBC Team Next athletes Emily Belchos and Danielle Kisser to help open new branch

VICTORIA, Oct. 28, 2014 /CNW/ - This Thursday, October 30, CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) will celebrate the grand opening of its new Broadmead Banking Centre in Victoria with a donation of $250,000 to University of Victoria, Peter B. Gustavson School of Business, for scholarships and bursaries.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Light refreshments will be served and a meet & greet with the CIBC Team Next athletes.
  • Now training in Victoria, Emily Belchos is the youngest player to have made the 2014 Canadian women's rugby team and is also aiming to represent Canada at the Pan American Games in Toronto next year and the Rio Olympics in 2016.
  • Danielle Kisser, a B.C. native who won bronze at the 2011 Parapan Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, is featured in the TORONTO 2015 Parapan Am Games promotional video 'Are You Ready', and hopes to compete at next year's Parapan Am Games and the Rio 2016 Olympics.
